Common questions
What supplies do I need to start resin art?
Resin and hardener, silicone molds, mixing cups and stir sticks, nitrile gloves, a heat gun or torch for bubbles, and a level surface. A respirator is recommended when working indoors.
How much mica powder do I add to resin?
Usually only a little: around 1–3% of the resin weight gives strong color. Too much can stop resin curing properly. The Pigment Calculator gives the grams for your batch.
Do I need a special resin for deep pours?
Yes. Coating resins are made for thin layers of about 1/8 inch. Pours thicker than that need a casting or deep pour resin rated for the depth.
